You know what, I have enough of all this people blabbering about how bad The Newsroom is or about how Aaron Sorkin doesn’t know how to write women.
This not a Sorkin apologia, he certainly has his flaws and, I get it, sometimes is female protagonists scream a little too easily and a little too much and, yeah, maybe they are mostly here to be “in a relationship”, but guess what? This, this scene, is far more what a real woman is than Carrie Bradshaw will ever be. I love Sex & The City, ok. It’s my favorite guilty pleasure. But most women aren’t like that. Most women don’t live for their closet. Most women don’t write blogs. And God knows most women don’t wear heels every-single day!
And, finally, my role model doesn’t come from Sex & The City. My female role-model is called C.J Cregg and she was written by Aaron Sorkin.
