Ok, it seems there are a few people who feel this way.
First of all I saw this promo picture before the trailer came out and therefore out of context and so will a ton of other people, seeing as it’s what they’ve chosen to sell their show with. Also, that was taken independently from the scene in question, in a photoshoot. It’s not a shot we saw in the trailer. And if you want me to point out the specific ways in which the staging of that photo sexualize her, I will. The position he’s carrying her in makes is so that her legs and ass are emphasizes for starters. Also the way her head is falling back and her chest and neck are exposed carry a sexual connotation, as well as being an absolutely shit way to carry an unconscious person if you’re aim is actually to make them safe. But I digress.
In that photo, she is sleeping beauty. With all the unfortunate implications that go with it. They are selling her helplessness as a packaged deal with her sexiness, and that is what I have a problem with.
Actually the way in which she is being carried is reminiscent of the Pietà. It’s a ploy MANY promotional posters utilize. It is supposed to evoke a christ like appearance for the person being carried and therefore the Doctor would represent the mourning mother (Madonna) or the person who is feeling the lost the most. Amy is incredibly important to him and so on and so forth.
It’s not sexual in anyway.
If you’re trying to say that the way the female body lays across two hands while being carried is by default sexual…then I frankly don’t know what to say to that.
Her chest is covered by LAYERS of clothing, her butt is NOT emphasized. The only skin you see is her hands and face.
What even the fuck.

I just want a nice little flat in England, somewhere a bit quieter than the heart of the city, but not quite in the rural areas. Maybe a balcony would be nice, a little small bed of flowers grown in some pots that could be seen from the streets below. And I’d have books and piles of sketchbooks and pencils and guitar picks on shelves and cushions and floors. And maybe rows of CDs along with the books and lines of photos strewn across the living room walls. And at night I could turn on the television and watch a rerun of Sherlock or Doctor Who and fall asleep to the murmurs of alien invasions and detective badassery and would wake up with the sun streaming through the windows and the little beeps and honks and whirs of the city below and the house would smell of coffee and wow someone share this nice fantasy life with me.
